Happy 40th Birthday Browns Bar and Brasserie

Browns Bar and Brasserie  has been celebrating its 40th birthday this year, with a series of stylish parties taking place at branches all over the country. I was lucky enough to join in the celebrations after receiving an invitation to the Birmingham restaurant’s party, and I had a truly wonderful night.

I was lucky enough to have been invited to the opening of Browns Birmingham a couple of years ago, and became a fan of the restaurant then. The relaxed atmosphere, stylish decor and great food makes this a great destination for special occasions, or just for a girlie lunch and a gossip with friends. The birthday event was a great opportunity to try some of the signature dishes in the form of delicious canapes, with the mini Yorkshire Pudding and roast beef being particularly good. Another gorgeous, and rather sweet idea, was a mini afternoon tea served on a tiny plate, complete with scone and cream, and tiny sandwiches with the crust removed.

I took my sister as my guest for the occasion. She had never been to Browns and was really impressed with the restaurant.  The hosts delivered a really nice evening that was a great opportunity to sample a couple of new cocktails, whilst enjoying a chat with friends. There was also lovely background music provided by a live band, giving the evening a lively feel.

There was an eclectic group of people invited as guests, from food bloggers to seasoned customers of Browns. Everyone seemed to agree that it was a great night. The Highlight of the evening was a stunning cake, complete with  monochrome icing and piano key theme.

I had a wonderful time at Browns and would fully recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and a pleasant evening in  Birmingham.
