Reviewed – Esther Studded heels from Bank

Bank is a store that was off my fashion radar for a long time, I thought it was for sporty, casual (and much younger ladies) than myself, and so avoided it, walking past, not even peering in through the window.

But two things changed my opinion lately. The first was the opening of a new Bank store in New Square, West Bromwich. I was kindly sent a voucher and so visited the store to spend it. I was very pleasantly surprised, there were lots of items that I really liked, including glittery jumpers and a fab selection of scarves. The second thing that really led to a change of mind was attending the Bank the look press event at the Westbury Hotel. I was actually in lust for many of the items I saw. (You can read about that event here.)

Bank recently sent me some of their great shoes to review, the Kitsch Couture Esther studded heels. Now, these are something that are well outside my comfort zone, edgy, studded and with ankle strap fastenings – all the things I usually avoid. But they are also striking, eye-catching, and with a high but substantial heel, so I was really looking forward to stepping outside that comfort zone and giving these a spin.

The first thing I am going to say is that if you have slightly wider feet, or wear a half size, size up. I like 5.5’s if available, so went up to a size 6 and was really glad that I did, a 5 would’ve been too small. The size 6 was surprisingly comfortable and the ankle strap was big enough to go around my ankle twice and fasten comfortably.

The shoes look great. The studs give them a slight ‘rock chick’ feel, so would look great with distressed denim or a leather jacket and skater skirt, but I teamed them with a simple, graphic printed dress which I think also looked pretty good. These shoes are definitely a more dressy option, I’m not sure you could ever adapt these for day wear. But, I would love to see them with a white cotton dress and black leather jacket for a Mary Kate Olsen kind of look.

I think these are a great buy for £35, they look like they cost so much more. Currently you can get a further 20% off the price, making them even more of a bargain.

Your wardrobe definitely needs these shoes to add a little edge to your outfits.

I’ve actually been quite impressed with the shoes in Bank recently too. They have some great killer heels & on-trend styles and they’re not too pricey either. I think their clothing is diversifying (slightly!!) too.
