Have you considered tuition for your child?
Giving your children the best education possible has become a bit of a minefield. Schools being transformed into academies, long waiting lists for the best state schools and new controversy of Year 2 and Year 6 Sats testing all mean that parents are often in a confused state when it comes to offering their children the best chance in terms of schooling.
The general unease when it comes to education has seen a rise in the popularity of private tuition. These companies cover all bases when it comes to tuition and coaching, from swotting for a particular entrance exam, to gaining a little extra support in a specific subject, be it Maths, Science or English.
Vaks is a tuition company that has branches in the South East and is a great model for the kind of success and improvement that a little extra educational support can bring. Working with children from 4- 18, Vaks starts with an initial assessment and then often sees improvements within just 6 weeks. Children have a plan of action to work with during the 12 week sessions and work in a small group of no more than 12 children. (There are also opportunities for one to one assistance if this is required.) Lessons are designed to be fun and engaging, and tutors are chosen for their ability to adapt different teaching styles, including kinesthetic learning (learning through doing), something that is sometimes missing in our academically focused classrooms.
Ultimately, focused tuition could be a great way to give your child a little extra support if they are struggling. We can’t all afford to send our children to private schools, but this is another way to tap into a more focused, child-centric system that can really improve the confidence and performance of someone who may currently be floundering in the classroom.

Interesting idea! A lot of my friends, some who are teachers, are really worrying about the way that everything is becoming academies too. This sounds likes a great support to childrens learning
Thanks for sharing!

Wow this is a great idea for those who want more than a regular school for their kids but afford private schools.
