Have you ever really liked the design of a dress, but thought, I wish they did that in a top? Well, if you loved the gorgeous dress in my last Lavitta review (see here), and fancied this design as a top, you are in luck. The navy lace half moon top is that dress in top form, and would be a beautiful and versatile addition to your wardrobe.
This is a beautiful top, completely lined in the body, and with a lovely white lace detailing over a navy underlayer. The short sleeves are sheer, and the top is stretchy. It is true to size, but I would say that it is cut quite short in the body. This makes it perfect to sit on top of skirts and jeans, but if you personally like a longer length I would go up a size for a bit of extra cloth.
I said that this top is versatile and here is why. On the website the top is paired with classic blue jeans and looks great, making the jeans suitable for drinks in the pub or wine bar – you just need to add heels. I wore the top with coated skinnies and ankle boots and thought this worked will, with the black and navy contrasting well, I wore this for a family meal and felt comfortable and yet still dressed up. But this top, due to the length, could also be paired with a navy or black formal suit and would then work well as workwear for the office, the top is not revealing due to the lining and so would easily do this job. As I said, a very versatile piece.
One thing I would say with this top is to keep your accessories to a minimum, the lace is beautiful but intricate, and adding heavy necklaces and earrings would just make the look fussy and would jar. This is a top that does all the taking and doesn’t need lots of adornments.
*I was gifted the top by Lavitta in return for a honest review.
