Reviewed – Lavitta Illusion Dress
Every wardrobe should have a printed dress in it. Something that is easy to dress up or dress down, requires little or no adornment, and is easy to just throw on for any occasion. If that dress doesn’t need to be ironed either, than that is even better. Lavitta’s current range of Illusion dresses can tick all of the above requirements, and look pretty gorgeous too.
I have been reviewing some pieces from Lavitta over the past couple of months, and this is my final review. (You can read my previous reviews here and here). The Red floral bouquet illusion panel dress is currently out of stock, but their are a whole host of other Illusion dresses that have the same design. (You can look at these here). These dresses are, quite simply, comfort themselves, stetchy, with sleeves and that fabulous illusion detail that certainly made me feel like I’d lost a few pounds.
The black side paneling and back panel work well to give you a classic, hour-glass shaped, whilst the black panel across the waistband creates a waist even if you feel more apple shaped. The dress is lined for extra comfort, and this lining means you can leave the spanx behind, this again gives you the smooth line that just makes dresses look so much better. I also love those three quarter sleeves, perfect if you feel your arms aren’t your best feature.
The print is beautiful and vibrant, combining shades of red and orange that contrast well with black. This is a dress that can easily take you from a work situation (add a black mac or blazer for a smart work wear look). But I have been wearing this for special occasions, including a baby shower at a rather lovely hotel, and the press night for Annie at the Wolverhampton Grand. For each occasion I went for black tights and heels (shoe boots for the Baby shower, vintage Bally heels for the theatre.) Because the dress is busy, accessories were kept to a minimum, just a bangle and a clutch bag, no other jewellery.
This is a really useful dress, the sort that would get a lot of wear and is just a classic look. I would definitely recommend checking out the Lavitta range of Illusion dresses for a versatile wardrobe piece.
