Marc Jacob’s Glamorous Wedding

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs got married to his partner Char Defrancesco in New York at the weekend, and, as you can imagine, it was a suitably glamorous affair. With most of the World’s supermodels on speed dial, the starry guest list included Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valleta, Rita Ora, Rachel Zoe, Debbie Harry, Chloe Sevigny and Gigi and Bella Hadid amongst many others, and the style on show was gothic, glamorous, and totally un-wedding like.

Taking aside the handsome couple, who were dressed impeccably in shades of green, the outfits of the wedding guests were more suitable for a red carpet than a wedding. Certainly, there were no pastels or silks in sight. Take for instance, the utterly stunning Naomi Campbell, who chose to wear black and sport a bare midriff, along with trousers and a cape. She looked incredible – but for a wedding? I can only guess that when attending a wedding of one of the world’s foremost fashion designers, then fashion forward really is the only way to go.

Next up is Kate Moss. She wore a bewitching Art Deco effect dress in a mauve shade. I loved this look, it was elegant, the colour was unusual, and with minimum accessories it was totally perfect.

Other looks included Luke Sabbat with Chloe Sevigny, in a 1980s style lace cocktail dress and dotted sheer tights, supermodel Helena Christenson, also in black (is this the colour for weddings this year?) and Bella and Gigi Hadid, who went for rather masculine suits that were accessorised with glamorous tops.

My favourite look is that worn by Kate Moss, with this stunning white faux fur and little black dress worn by Amber Valleta coming a very close second.

There will be many more weddings in 2019, but I’m guessing that this one will be the one with the most glamorous, most A list guest list.

Sharing is caring!

Welcome to the world of fashion-mommy, a world of fashion, lifestyle, theatre and fun. Enjoy the ride.
