More Pocket Fashion From Gemini Books

Earlier this year, I introduced a brand new range of books that highlighted fashion designers and brands in a whole new way. These were the Gemini pockets, small, but perfectly formed hardback fashion books that were both informative and stylish. At the time, I mentioned that the plan was to release more fashion tomes in this series later this year. I’m pleased to say that there are now three more books in the series dedicated to Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Dior.

What are the books like?

As with the first selection of books in the series, these are a lovely mixture of facts about the company, key designers and designs, important dates in the companies history, ups and downs for the brand, and famous fans. There are quotes about the brands, and some photographs to hold it all together in style.

The books are hardback and are so stylishly put together, with bright colourful covers containing an eye catching single image. The back cover contains a quote that just sums up the company – its history and its ethos. The pages are black, white, and the colour of the cover, adding this different coloured just adds to the stylish look of the books.

The books are chronological, offering a potted history of the design house. For instance, the book dedicated to Dior takes in Christian himself, then the tenure of Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferre, John Galliano, Raf Simons and coming right up to date with Maria Grazia Chiuri. We learn about the key collections of each of the lead designers for the brand, and how they put their own stamp on the brand.

Affordable Luxury

It is August, so not too early to mention the ‘C’ word, which will be here before you know it. This collection of books from Gemini make great Christmas presents for a fashionista, or someone who is just interested in a particular brand. They would look great on a book shelf, and if you gifted one, you could start a collection, maybe gifting them on special occasions like birthdays and Easter (far kinder than chocolate!).
