My handbag essentials
What do you consider to be your handbag essentials? I don’t mean the usual – money, keys and phone – we all have to carry those, but what are the other things that you always have in your bag? Brioche Pasquier asked me to put together a post on my most important handbag essentials, the things that travel with me, no matter what, and this led to some serious thinking about what I really can’t do without.
I change the bag that I use everyday on a regular basis, I may use something smaller on one day, or want to use something that’s a different colour to better match an outfit. Maybe it is a more formal day and I want to use a structured leather bag. Or I’m having a boho day and reach for something from Accessorize with tassels and sequins. The thing is, the bag may change, but my handbag essentials don’t – I just transfer them to another bag.
Here are my handbag essentials – I don’t leave home without them.
1. Make-Up
I don’t carry lots of make-up with my, but there are certain things I must have – my lipstick, bronzer, mascara and an eye pencil. This enables me to put my face on very quickly. My make-up bag is a cute design that was gifted by Emma Lomax (you can read that review here) and my current fave brands include the Kate Moss Rimmel nude lipsticks and Bobbi Brown mascara.
2. My Camera
It’s a running joke that I am never without my camera, and I have to carry a bag big enough to accommodate it. You never know when a photo opportunity might arise.
3. A notebook
You never know when a moment of inspiration might strick you, and I am also a person who loves to do lists, so a notebook and pen are essential. Plus, this comes very useful when I’m out with Joe as he can use this to draw and ‘do some sums.’
4. A snack
I often skip breakfast, so having a snack in my bag is an essential. If I don’t eat it, then I know that Joe will (the child never refuses chocolate!). My current elevenses favourite is Brioche Pasquier Pitch, especially the chocolate flavour filled variety. These are great as they are individually wrapped and definitely tastier and more filling than the average chocolate bar. Brioche Pasquier have just launched a new four pack variety, you can find these new packs in Tesco Express, Morrisons M-local and are priced at just £1.39 per pack.
5. Perfume
I often keep an array of samples and small scent bottles in my bag. There is no better way to freshen up than with a spritz of your favourite scent. My favourite is Miss Dior Cherie, simply the most beautiful perfume around.
So that is it – my handbag essentials. What do you never leave the house without?
