Review – Planet black tuxedo style jacket
In yesterday’s blog I talked about how a faux fur coat is the perfect cover up for when you are going out for an evening occasion. For some people though, a big coat is not the answer. In these cases, I think a stylish blazer or tuxedo style jacket can work well when worn over a slinky dress, or teamed with tapered trousers for an androgynous look. I have recently been sent a stunning tuxedo style jacket from Planet (part of the Jacques Vert group) and I have already been wearing this jacket to great effect during the party season. It is stylish, easy to wear and is cut to fit and flatter the figure.
The Planet black jacket is in a silky, satin blend fabric that automatically makes it an evening option. The style is collarless, but with paneling that gives it the look of a dinner jacket. The silk lining adds to the luxury of the item, whilst I also love the pockets which are real, rather than for show. I have worn this jacket over a prom style dress with a full skirt, and also with a sequined skirt and a camisole top, both for events at the theatre where there was just a short walk from the car, so I could leave a bigger, warmer coat at home.
For me, this jacket is a great dressy option, and I can’t wait to try it with black trousers to try to create a tuxedo style suit, or wide leg trousers for a 1930s look outfit. The jacket is currently in the sale at Planet, reduced to £59, with most sizes available, so it is a great time to add this versatile piece to your wardrobe.
Here are a few more sales jackets and coats that are definitely worth a look.
*With thanks to Aaron Huckett and Publicasity for the jacket for review.
