I have been looking for a perfect pink jacket for a long time. I love pink, it is one of my favourite colours, and one that does seem to suit my colouring since I have lightened my hair. But it is also a minefield when it comes to jackets. Get the cut and colour right and it will look chic and sophisticated. Get it wrong and you will look like a lesser known member of the royal family at a wedding, or, worse still, Anne Diamond in her TVAM days.
Luckily, the lovely people at F&F stepped in and sent me a jacket that was definitely on the chic side, rather than the 1980s excess version. No big lapels, no big buttons, great 3/4 sleeves, and a Jackie Kennedy style boxy shape, the Crepe Open front Jacket has a look of vintage 1960s that is hard to resist. And the glorious shade of pink made my mouth quite literally water.
This jacket could be worn so many ways. I love the idea of wearing it with a skater skirt, as it was styled on the website, and I think tailored shorts would also work very well with this. It would dress up your jeans for an evening out, just add a white vest top, long dangling necklace and a great pair of heels for a failsafe outfit. But I styled this to reflect my own personal preferences, with a pretty dress and shoes to make an outfit that reflects my love of feminine fashion and ladylike style.
The jacket was such a lovely fit, it is true to size so no need to size up or down. (This is an 18). The jacket is semi fitted, despite the boxy cut, so there is not a lot of excess material to make it baggy. I love the 3/4 sleeves, which I think keeps it bang up to date, and the lining makes this jacket seem much more expensive than your average supermarket buy. And it has pockets, the Holy Grail of any dress, jacket or coat in my book!
I teamed the jacket with a dress that had pink running through it, and silver flats. I think this jacket would also look great with a navy shift dress, or worn over white. It is a versatile jacket that will give you lots of different looks and will certainly earn its keep in your wardrobe. I loved it!
F&F have a great range of jackets online at the moment, view the complete range here.
*With thanks to F&F and Maverick PR for gifting the jacket for review purposes.
