Reviewed – Graphic Print Dress from Planet
I’m a huge fan of Planet and their range of dresses. I always feel sophisticated and grown up when I wear one, the classic, elegant designs are timeless and seem totally designed for women with curves. Recently I was asked if I would like to review something from the latest collection, and, as I had a very special occasion coming up, I decided to choose a dress that I thought would be both appropriate, and eye-catching.

The Graphic print dress is certainly eye-catching, in a zesty yellow and navy blue mix print. It has a thin navy belt, and a faux wrap detailing on the skirt. It is 100% polyester (so non stretch), and is fully lined. It is also machine washable, and is currently reduced from £99 to a bargain price of £69.
I decided to wear this to my niece’s christening, where I was thrilled to be one of the godparents. I wanted something elegant and comfortable, and also cool, as it turned out to be rather a warm day. This dress turned out to be perfect on all counts.
The dress has a back zip fastening, but it is quite generous in size, and once again I could put this one by pulling it over my head. The fabric feels like an expensive crepe, and the lining is substantial – no pants showing through this one. I liked that the v neck is flattering but not too low, you could easily wear this for work wear if you added a navy jacket and court shoes. I also really like that the wrap detail is faux, the skirt is not going to be blowing open and revealing too much.

I think this dress is totally appropriate for a special occasion, and that the fabulous print means it really doesn’t need lots of accessories and adornment. One point I would make is that the block print is definitely navy, but does look black under artificial light, so be careful if you are trying to colour match accessories.
The dress does come in a second colour, if the yellow is too bright for your taste.

That’s a gorgeous dress – looks stunning on you. I think I prefer the yellow one to the red but they are both very striking.

I love that red and black combination and the fact that I can get away with minimal accessories !
