Reviewed – Mystery Boots by Hotter

As much as I love a pretty heeled boot, I have to say that doing the school run every day makes wearing them virtually impossible. Joe’s school is in a semi rural area, and this Autumn it has been a nightmare due to falling leaves and rainfall. Frankly, in heeled boots I have had to take my life into my hands as the pavement has become treacherously slippy – at times I’ve walked in the road which is not a good idea either due to it’s narrowness and the volume of traffic that comes through. Clearly I needed to be wearing something more sensible. Thankfully, Hotter shoes have been on hand to come to the rescue.

Hotter are renowned for footwear that is both stylish, comfortable and practical. Coming in a good range of sizes and in both standard and wide fitting, it is the first port of call when you need your football to be durable and reliable. The Mystery Boots totally fit this bill, with the added bonus of coming in a range of gorgeous colours too. With a ruched leg of soft leather and suede, fastening with a stretchy side zip, these are boots that you can wear every day, and particularly for those occasions when you are going to be standing on your feet for a long time, or doing a lot of walking. I wore these boots for the first time on Saturday to visit the Lincoln Christmas Market, and can honestly say they coped with everything, from the extraordinary steep hill, to the crowds and the cold. They were warm and comfy from the minute I put them on, until the moment I took them off again.

These boots are genuinely on of the most comfortable pairs I have ever worn. I think this is partially because they are not flat, but have a slight wedge heel which really saves me from calf pain, and then you can add in the millions of air bubbles that lighten the sole. The boots also have a cushioned insole so they feel like a treat for the feet. They also look pretty cute too, especially when worn with a denim skirt, but these would easily fit over your skinny jeans too.
