Reviewed – Next Teal Baroque Dress
If you are looking for a versatile dress that can take you anywhere this season, then step this way. I was recently sent the Teal Baroque dress from Next, and I have to say this is one dress that you can literally wear for any occasion. It is wonderfully rich in colour, very comfortable to wear, and seems to be impossible to crease – what’s not to love?

I am most definitely a dress person, and after a bit of an obsession with 1950s style shapes, lately I’ve been tempted back to the world of the neat shift dress. But I do have a few stipulations. Shift dresses can be stretchy and tight-fitting (they use the word body-hugging, but I prefer tight!). What I love about this dress is that it skims curves rather than clinging to them for dear life. This made me feel really much more comfortable than in something tight. The other key point is the pattern and colour. The teal is rich and deep, a really gorgeous shade, with a pattern that is almost like opulent Victorian flock wallpaper, a really decadent, luxurious look.
I wore this dress for a lovely Christmas party event at the Holiday Inn Express in Birmingham, and teamed it with suede shoeboots and a multi pearl necklace. This was certainly dressy enough for the event I was attending, but swapping the boots for heels and putting hair in a soft updo, maybe adding some chandelier earrings could make this even more glamorous. But if you wanted to work this as an elegant work look, the addition of a black blazer would make this a great office to bar choice.
Next is a great stop if you are looking for beautiful party dresses this Christmas. Here are five more that I just love.
