Reviewed – VW Campervan wash bag from Planet Camping

I think it is safe to say that a lot of people have a soft spot for the iconic VW Camper Van. As a teenager I thought there would be nothing better than getting a camper van and doing all the summer festivals, enjoying a 1960s style hippie lifestyle straight from the days of flower power. That never happened of course, but I still love camper vans and their laid back image.

Planet Camping are a one stop shop for everything you need to go on a camping holiday, but they also offer officially licensed Volkswagen products based on the iconic Camper vans and Beetles. I was recently lucky enough to be sent a Camper Van washbag to test drive from the brand, and I have to say this is a really fun, cute product.

The Camper Van wash bag is unisex and would appeal to anyone with a love of camper vans. It comes in a range of colours including blue, yellow and pink, but I was sent the red version, which is a lovely, vibrant shade. The bag is a decent size, with dimensions of length – 32cm, height – 15cm and width – 12cm. This means it is more than big enough to carry your full sized bottles of toiletries, rather than being limited to travel sizes. The depth also means you can get quite a few bottles in the bag – shampoo, deodorant, shower gels and skincare, there is no need to leave anything behind.

Another great feature of the bag is the fabric it is made of. Polyester and Polyamide makes it durable and hard wearing, whilst the lining is waterproof and wipe clean – great if you have a spillage from a bottle or tube. The double zip fastening is also a great feature when thinking about spillage – more likely to keep it inside the bag rather than all over the rest of your case.

There are also additional, smaller pockets inside the bag, these are perfect for smaller items like nail files and tweezers, and also one internal zip pocket which could be useful to put rings and jewellery in before showering.

If you love retro accessories, you will really love this bag – it is super cute and really practical too. Perfect for weekends away and longer holidays, whether they involve a camper van or not!
