Graceland Ladies Beige Ankle Boots From Deichmann

There are some boots that will take you from day to night, and then there are some boots that are just made for comfy, casual days. The Graceland Ladies Beige Ankle Boots from Deichmann are just those boots. In a cute Western Cowgirl style, these are boots that are comfortable and stylish and look great with a pair of jeans. Plus, I have been able to work a mile in these without any rubbing, blisters or sore toes. That totally makes them winning in my book.

The Graceland boots are a semi slouchy style, not completely loose – they keep their shape well, but they are quite easy to pull on.  The boot is just above the ankle and has a side zip fastening, although this does not go all the way to the top of the boot, but is more to aid pulling on. The heel is a Cuban style making these great for those who avoid flat heels. The heel is not too high to make walking difficult, at just 5.5cm these are still a very comfortable option.

The textured fabric the boots are made from is very suede like and gives them a lovely brushed look.  The boots are also available in black, but I loved the natural beige shade as I think they would also look cute worn with bare legs as the days get warmer. The sizing is generous, you can easily go true to size, even if you intend to wear them with thicker socks or tights.

I wore my boots with skinny jeans for a day at the match.  This involves a walk of about a mile once the car is parked in order to get to the ground. This proved to be no problem in these boots, they remained comfortable and also hard wearing, I was really impressed as they cost less than £25 – a real bargain.

Love is in the air…but watch those shoes!

It’s Valentine’s Day, the day of love and romance, so I will start the day with a story, a true story, one not for the faint hearted however. A long time ago I went on a date with someone I was rather keen on. It started well with drinks in a local pub, but I couldn’t help noticing there was a pretty nasty smell in the air, one that could only be described as like a wet dog. We moved onto another pub, but I noticed the smell seemed to be following us. And then I noticed my date’s trainers, dirty, wet looking and totally smelly. I think it was one of those moments when you get a bit of sick in your mouth. I made my excuses and left. It was a shame, as he was rather cute, but when your date’s shoes make you want to gag, it’s time to end the date.

Shoe retailer Deichmann have been asking people about the do’s and don’ts when it comes to the right shoes to wear for a date. They have also collected some hilarious horror stories about when shoes go wrong. They surveyed 4,507 UK adults and discovered that 66% consider a male partner wearing socks and sandals their biggest turn off on a first date (Haha!), while 50% described scruffy or dirty shoes on a woman as their biggest no-no.

The survey has also revealed how to dress to impress after asking respondents their biggest footwear turn ons, with 52% being impressed by a male partner wearing real leather shoes and 56% being impressed by a female partner wearing high heels.

Perfect heel height?

Other findings revealed:-

  • The survey has also revealed how to dress to impress after asking respondents their biggest footwear turn ons, with 52% being impressed by a male partner wearing real leather shoes and 56% being impressed by a female partner wearing high heels.
  • Men wearing brogues or boots also made a good first impression, with 25% and 20% of respondents listing them as footwear turn ons, while ankle boots (29%) and knee high boots (25%) were revealed to be the second and third biggest turn ons in a female partner.
  • When it comes to footwear turn offs on men, scruffy/dirty shoes and snakeskin shoes were also given the boot, with 39% and 27% of respondents describing them as a turn off.
  • Wellies and heels that are too high came in second and third as the biggest turn offs on ladies, with 31% and 26% of votes.

brogues+Leather is a good choice for date night

So, if you want to make sure you progress onto the second date you need shoes that are clean, come in real leather and are not too high that you can’t walk in them, and your snakeskin shoes need to be left to the likes of Steven Tyler and other ageing rock stars.
