Evans Celebrate the new season with a competition

I want to start this post with a simple, but truthful, statement. The new collection from Evans is just amazing. There, I’ve said it, and will not be taking it back anytime soon. There are just so many things that I have added to my mental shopping list, items that make you want to go shopping RIGHT NOW.

The luxurious lace edit is simply exquisite, showing that lace can be a daytime or evening option, and also proving that whilst black lace is a classic, gothic option, coloured varieties are not to be ignored.  I love the idea of a lace blazer being teamed with peg leg trousers and a block colour top as a super cool work option. And as for the violet lace cross back top – the shade alone is enough to make you dream of the day this top takes up residence in your wardrobe.

These are tops to take you to every occasion this late Summer, and then well into Autumn, making the transition across the seasons as easy as 1,2,3.

A stunning Ness and Pepper silk scarf.

One of the greatest things about being a fashion blogger is the opportunity to discover new design talents who bring something different to the style world. A recent discovery of mine, and one which I have just fallen in love with, is the wonderful world of Ness and Pepper scarves. The range was launched this season and is the brainchild of Award Winning photographer Vanessa Warren.  The beautiful designs and prints on her Chinese silk scarves are inspired by her fashion photography, and her travels around the world. And they are truly awe-inspiring in their beauty.

The Ness and Pepper collection features Vanessa’s four statement pieces, Untitled Stars, Colombian Roses, Double Act and Amazon Lillies, which are all handmade using photos from her work. This has created a wonderfully  striking collection that is just full of vibrant colour and fantasy.

My favourite design is the Untitled Stars scarf, which draws inspiration from an abstract series entitled ‘Dream’,  this is a story of reflections on water in the midday sun, with swirls and colour meshing that is just breathtaking. For me, this calls to mind the best work of Peter Pilotto and Christopher Kane, in a sort of celestial wonder. I was sent this scarf in order to review the product and found that I was wearing it everywhere, it is light and delicate enough to keep in the smallest handbag so you can add it to an outfit to change it from day to evening,  The other designs are Colombian Roses, Double Act, and Amazon Lilies inspired by the  piranha infested waters of the Amazon.

These scarves are truly unique, and I love the fact that they are perfect for every occasion, whether it be worn over a simple vest top and skinny jeans for a cool daytime look, or draped over your favourite little black dress. I would also say these would be very functional for travelling – drape it over your shoulders for a walk along the seafront, tie a larger scarf around the waist as a sarong, take it on the plane for when the cool air conditioning kicks in.

Simply Be – New season trends and Competition!

Simply Be’s new collection is an absolute scorcher! Full of vintage inspired pieces, in an array of bright and sorbet shades, this is a collection that has something for everyone. Love pretty dresses? Simply Be has them in multiple. Prefer a more minimalist look? Yes, its got that too? Don’t do dresses? Well, what about a cool, vintage inspired jumpsuit. This is a collection that is just full of pieces you will add to your wardrobe and wear all summer long…and then beyond.

Here are some of my absolute favourites from a wonderful collection.

This 60s inspired dress is just so pretty.  Using lace to give it just a touch of ‘Middleton’, this is a perfect dress for a romantic evening out and would look fabulous with opaque tights on cooler days. This looks like something Zooey Deschanel would wear, and that can’t be a bad thing.

Maxi skirts are more streamlined this season, and have a sexier edge to them, with front split details. They have immense wearability, team them with a boyfriend blazer and brogues for a cool everyday look, or style with wedges and a silk tee for an evening occasion.

If minimalism is more your style, this is the perfect look for you. Casual, but with dressy details like the scalloped edging on the soft pink top and that fabulous satchel, this is my perfect travelling in style look, whether your destination is Barbados, Benidorm or Bognor.

This kimono sleeved jacket has a real boho feel to it. I love the floral applique and would add this is to holiday suitcase, it could be anything from a beach cover up to an addition to a little black dress.

This is my absolute favourite item from the new collection. The gorgeous sunshine yellow shade is so eye-catching, and the zip detail gives this boho style a contemporary edge. Wear with simple jeans and flip-flops, and add an English heritage style chunky knit for when the chills set in.
