Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment

October sees the return of all our familiar Disney favourites to the Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham. This time around Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment,  a Feld Entertainment ice spectacular featuring four classic, fun-filled Disney stories. Following on from Easter’s shows which introduced ice fans to Anna and Elsa from the smash hit show Frozen, the ladies from Arendelle are returning and promise, once again, to raise the roof with a wealth of wonderful songs and the funniest snowman in showbiz.

Lamaloli – Clothes that Kids love

If you are looking for fun and affordable children’s clothes that are perfect for play and everyday wear, then I would definitely suggest you take a look at the Lamaloli Website. LamaLoLi.com is the online-shop selling branded clothing for boys and girls who love Disney, Minions, Star Wars and basically every other super hero or Princess under the sun. The clothes are fantastic quality, come in a great range of sizes, and are totally affordable – so important when kids grow out of clothing so quickly.

I was recently challenged by Lamaloli to see just how much I could get for Joe for £40. I must admit that this was a challenge I relished, but decided not to limit it just to Joe. My niece Renee is Frozen crazy and Lamololi has a great range of products dedicated to this particular Disney favourite, so I chose a couple of pieces for her. Unfortunately Renee is tiny for her age, so they may not fit for a little while, but the pieces were in the sale and far too good to miss. I have detailed them below.

But now onto Joe. His current obsessions are Minions, so I was able to chose him some great pjs and a cool t-shirt from this range. We used loose cotton tea-shirts for when Joe does his karate practice, and these were really useful for this.  The Pyjamas were a great summer buy, short sleeved and with shorts rather than trousers,  making them great for sticky evenings.

We also chose a great Star Wars t-shirt emblazoned with Darth Vader. For some reason Joe loves the Star Wars bad guys far more than the goodies so this was a good choice, and again, this has been something Joe wears to his karate, but would also be perfect with shorts or jeans.

We completed our choices with some Phineas and Ferb long sleeved pyjamas and a pack of Skylanders pants. This made our total just over £40 for three pairs of pyjamas, 2 short sleeved t-shirts, I long sleeved top and 2 pairs of pants. I think this is amazing value for good quality products, especially as you can also get free delivery on all orders over £20.

Lamaloli has products that kids will love, and prices that parents will appreciate. Definitely worth a look.

Disney on Ice Magical Ice Festival

There are no prizes for guessing what the highlight of the Disney on Ice Magical Ice Festival was, when it opened at the Genting Arena in Birmingham last night. Frozen has been a total phenomenon, the biggest new Disney hit in years, with ‘Let it Go’ being that song that you simply cannot dislodge from your brain. And last night in Birmingham, listening to the whole of the auditorium singing along with Elsa at the top of their voices, you realised you were in the midst of a very special moment. I don’t mind admitting I shed a few tears.

The Magical Ice festival wasn’t just about Frozen. There was the usual mixture of Mickey and friends introducing wonderful set pieces from a number of Disney Favourites. This time around we were treated to segments from The Little Mermaid, Tangled and Beauty and the Beast, before the part that it seemed the whole room was waiting for. Each of the earlier segments perfectly fused wonderful ice dancing and perfect costumes with songs and dances that are instantly familiar. There was an awe-inspiring moment from The Little Mermaid, when Ariel gets her legs courtesy of the frankly terrifying Ursula, and the horse from Tangled again delighted audiences, but the truth was that everyone was waiting for one thing – the moment Anna and Elsa would make their way onto the ice.

No-one was disappointed. Olaf the comic Snowman longing for Summer, and doing what snowmen do in Summer, was just as loveable and funny as he is in the movie, and was a total audience favourite. Anna and Elsa showed all the personality and determination that has made them Disney’s most popular heroines, whilst Sven the Reindeer was an advertisement in cute. But it was ‘Let it Go’ that raised the roof, as Idina Menzel’s voice soared and the snow came down creating a wonderful spectacle. It was beautiful and spine tingling, and, as an adult I loved every minute of it. Judging by all the other adults singing at the top of their lungs, I wasn’t the only one. My little boy Joe, who often says that Frozen is ‘a girls film’ proclaimed it his favourite part of the whole show, with Olaf his favourite character (he did add the question though – is that Snowman crazy?)
