I sat up late last night, with the TV switched to the E! Channel, ready for ‘Live from the Red Carpet’ coming direct from the SAG Awards. I must admit I love the SAG Awards as the style is usually a little more laid back than other Awards season events, with celebrities more likely to take a bit of a risk. And the awards bandwagon rolls on. This time it was the SAG awards, which, traditionally, is a slightly more dressed down affair than the Golden Globes and The Oscars. On this occasion though, there were some really nice dresses, although nothing that would actually make you gasp. Baftas – style highs and lows.
Last night was the most important night on the British film calendar – The Baftas. As expected, ‘The Kings speech’ dominated the awards winning seven in total, including Best film, best Actor for Colin Firth and Best supporting actor and actress for Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter. Best actress went to Natalie Portman, who was absent due to her pregnancy, but many other Hollywood stars made the trip across the pond and braved the wet London weather for the ceremony.
