Duchess Kate and Jessica Ennis bring glamour to the Sports Personality Awards
The Sports personality of the year awards are always a clear sign that it is nearly Christmas, and this year the ceremony was more exciting than ever. As well as having so many candidates deserving of winning the title after the greatest sporting year for Britain in living memory, the ceremony also heralded the first public engagement for the Duchess of Cambridge after her recent stay in hospital. Kate looked incredibly elegant and glossy in an emerald-green, v necked gown from Alexander McQueen that had a rather sexy front split detail. The slightly puffed sleeves, fitted Cumberband style waistband and long skirt were demure, and the colour, emerald-green, has been…

An Interview with Philip Armstrong and Tony Burke Armstrong
Last Friday night was a huge night for Birmingham fashion. Harvey Nichols, in the fabulous Mailbox, hosted a very special fashion show that showcased the amazing talent of the label Philip Armstrong. I was lucky enough to be able to grab a bit of time after the show with Philip and Tony Burke Armstrong, the creative force behind the label, and to ask them a few questions. They proved to be friendly, approachable and funny – as gorgeous as their designs. Q. You are famous for dressing celebrities, which celebrity have you most enjoyed working with? A. Alesha Dixon, she’s a real style icon. A lot of designers aspire to…

Duchess Kate proves red coats are not just for Santa
I love a nice red coat, and it seems I’m in good company. Last weekend the Duchess of Cambridge attended a rugby match wearing her lovely LK Bennett. full length red coat, looking both snug and stylish for the outdoor event. This was one outfit you could not blame her for recycling, what could look more warm and festive than a red coat? (Just ask Santa – he’s sure to agree.) Kate’s red coat look is all over the High Street and internet at the moment, with nearly all the High Street big boys having a red coat in their seasonal collection. And why not? A red coat is a…

Kate wears Temperley to greet the athletes
At a reception at Buckingham Palace to salute Britain’s golden summer and the wonderful athletes created it, Duchess Kate showed off a new dress that has so far received decidedly mixed reviews. The black and gold dress from Alice Temperley has been described as being too ‘busy’ with floral applique panels, a frilled skirt which also had a pleated panel, and a silk sash belt at the waist, there was certainly a lot going on. But, in my opinion, this does not distract from the beauty of the gown, which I think was perfect in it’s cocktail length, beautiful embellishment, and also in the use of gold as a motif.…

Have you put on a Peplum yet?
The peplum is nothing new in fashion, but it might have taken you a while to try it out! If you’re anything like me then the strange new silhouette might have seemed a little intimidating at first, but once you try it out you’ll realise it’s the best thing in the world! Everyone from Rihanna to Kate Middleton is catching on to the waist enhancing power of the peplum; it creates a waist for boyish figures and hides bloated stomachs if you’re having an off-day. Peplum dresses in particular create a great hourglass silhouette and look sophisticated as well as on trend – my favourite is the paisley-style printed dress…
