There seems to be a new trend amongst stylish brides for more than one white dress on their big day.It used to be traditional for brides to have that one super special dress for their wedding day, and to revel in wearing it all day long, unless they left early to go on honeymoon. Lily Allen weds!
This Saturday saw the wedding of Lily Allen and Sam Cooper, and the surprise but heart warming news that Lily is more than 12 weeks pregnant. All eyes were on the dress, as Lily is known as a vintage aficionado, who has here own vintage clothes shop, Lucy in Disguise, that she co-runs with sister Sarah, and has recently launched her own vintage-inspired line to be sold through Harvey Nichols. Lily is also a sometime muse of Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel, so he was another possible designer name in the frame. The stylish television event of the year was the Channel 4 documentary ‘Lily Allen – From Riches to Rags’ which focused on Lily Allen and her sister Sarah Owen as they set up their vintage emporium ‘Lucy In Disguise’. The documentary was fascinating as we watched through the laughter, tears, high and low points as the girls realised their vintage clothing dream. But one thing that was apparent from episode one was that these girls had amazing taste when it came to choosing vintage clothing. Like any fashion obsessive, I have found myself fascinated by the Lily Allen documentary ‘From Riches to Rags’ that concluded this week. This detailed the journey of Lily Allen pop star to Lily Allen vintage boutique entrepreneur as she set up her vintage fashion emporium ‘Lucy In Disguise’.
