She is probably my favourite style icon to emerge from ‘Made in Chelsea’, and now she is further venturing into the world of fashion with a jewellery collection for High Street favourite Dorothy Perkins. Millie Mackintosh continues her move away from the TV world with a gorgeous range of jewellery which she says draws inspiration from her family heirlooms (her family are the Mackinstosh family who invented Quality Street), and from vintage pieces that she has picked up on her travels. The range was launched at Dorothy Perkins this week and looks set to be an instant success.
Millie is an acknowledged lover of jewellery, she made many of the designer pieces from Zara Taylor Jewellery sell-outs after she was seen wearing them on Made in Chelsea. More recently, she has been the face of Follie Folli, another brand renowned for fabulous jewels. Now, with this collection, Millie has created a range that is both beautiful and stylish, but also super affordable.
The key pieces in the collection have to be the statement necklaces. Big and bold, these blingy pieces look super expensive, but the reality is the most expensive piece, the show stopping tear drop necklace, is £35, with most of the necklaces priced in the £20, making them super affordable. I love these necklaces as I think they can transform any look. A simple white t-shirt and jeans can be made ready for a night out with the addition of one of these, whilst one of my favourite current looks is to add a necklace to a classic shirt. Of course, for your Christmas party outfit, you could take your tired old little black dress (the one you pull out every Christmas, birthday or family party) add one of the statement necklaces, and totally update your outfit.
