Pearl Lowe’s latest drop for Peacocks

With echoes of vintage Hollywood glamour, and the usual attention to flattering the figure,  Pearl Lowe’s latest drop for Peacocks, which arrived this week, is her best yet. Modelled by daughter Daisy, this collection is choked full of elegant evening dresses and beautiful party dresses that make it perfect for the festive season. There are full length dresses that have a real 1930s feel, and then 50s silhouettes in red lace and black velvet. I absolutely love all of these dresses, but particularly have my eye on the black velvet 50s gown with the crochet style back. Pearl says of the collection;- “My Christmas collection is inspired by my favourite…

Lydia Bright – TOWIE’s breakout style star

It is fair to say I have come quite late to the phenomenon that is The Only Way is Essex. But, I am now totally addicted to watching this docu-soap that entails the lives, loves and adventures of a group of Essex 20 somethings. And whilst enjoying the voyeuristic look at life around the Sugarhut, I have also become enamoured with the style and wardrobe of one Essex girl. Step forward Lydia Bright. Her wardrobe is full of full length maxi dresses, pretty boho styles and original…

The  new Pearl Lowe collections have moved slightly away from her beloved 1940s, and are now embracing a glamorous Hollywood 1930s vibe. Champagne silk and lace, and black oriental style florals simply evoke the time of Kay Francis and Miriam Hopkins, whilst maintaining the amazing Peacocks  price points. There were also fabulous 50s silhouette dresses that used the luxe fabrics of velour and lace,…

Pearl Lowe continues to bring that Vintage feel to Peacocks.

I was recently lucky enough to have a Twitter conversation with Pearl Lowe, where I was able to tell her how much I loved her feminine, vintage inspired designs for Peacocks. I explained that I was a curvy girl who had virtually lived in one of her designs over the summer, and that I couldn’t believe just how flattering the designs were for those with fuller figures. Pearl explained that she designs dresses that she could wear herself, and so they are made to suit, and indeed enhance girls with curves! So I am over the moon to bring you the story and looks from Pearl’s latest collection for Peacocks,…

Fashion-mommy Loves -a review of April style.

April was a truly stylish month that was totally dominated by weddings!  The glossy magazine covers looked distinctly bridal, with Vogue producing three covers featuring Natalia Vodianova, Freja Beha Erichsen and Lara Stone as three very beautiful brides, whilst Harpers Bazaar had a glorious Kate Moss as its regal cover girl. Honestly, anyone would think that there was a royal wedding going on! But seriously, April proved to be a beautiful and stylish month. Here are some of the best bits of it. A royal wedding…and a few other brides. Kate Middleton made a totally beautiful bride, and the fashion moment was made all the sweeter when it was revealed…
