Portable North Pole spreads Christmas Cheer

One of the most magical things about having a child is their belief in Father Christmas. I have always been a lover of all things Christmassy, but my joy in the festive season changed completely when I was once again able to see if through a child’s eyes. My Joe is almost 11, m not entirely sure he still believes in Santa, when he receives a message from the man himself through Portable North Pole,he still gets really excited, although trying to act cool. It is a real magical moment.

Portable North Pole is a brilliant concept which delivers a personal message to your child from Santa, direct from the North Pole.  Very easy to create, you can upload all the things that make the message personalized, from photographs of your child on special occasions, a picture of your house so Santa can show he knows exactly where you live, and also information about what your child would like as a gift, any special achievements this year, and even the names of friends which are added to Santa’s library. The attention to detail is unique and impressive, and the video are also funny, this year they have added more, from The Magic Carousel, The wrapping machine and the elves magic door. There are also calls from the Man in red himself that can be added to your package.

This year, Christmas Eve will be even more magical than ever thanks to the brand new special multi-device scenario straight from Santa’s sleigh delivered on Christmas Eve! Children will join Santa as he reviews his flight plan for the big night in a personalised video message for an excited child or children – the perfect way to get them to go to bed early too!

PNP Santa – Festive fun for all the family

Every child loves a message from Santa, whether this be a personalised letter or a visit to a grotto. Last year I discovered a third way of receiving an amazing letter in the form of a video from Portable North Pole. This is a unique and personal video that can be created for any child, with the gold package, which gives you access to unlimited videos in a range of themes, costing just £9.99.

PNP videos are just so much fun, they have been created to a really high specification, looking just like a mini Hollywood movie. Santa is just how you would imagine him to be, and the elves and music are really enchanting too. The use of the machines to see who is on the naughty and nice lists are super cute, and I love that you can add real pictures of your child, names of their friends and lists of their achievements throughout the year. Your child will truly believe that the message has come from Santa, and this will certainly help to keep that Christmas magic alive.

What you can get?

  • Free videos available that come with five personalisations – so you don’t have to pay to enjoy the magic of PNP
  • Even fun grown-up versions available for family, friends or colleagues that can be a little cheekier
  • PNP donates 5% of all online sales to 40 children’s hospitals across the world – 4 based in the UK
  • With the gold package you get:-
    • Unlimited premium video messages – up to 15 personalisations per video
    • Unlimited calls from Santa
    • 1 free HD download to keep your special video from Santa

PNP is such a fun idea, truly enchanting for children, and something that has become part of my family tradition. With Joe also having a December birthday I also create a birthday message too, something which is again easy to do and can be part of your package.

BHS present a wonderful, traditional Christmas…in July!

I was lucky enough to be put on the guest list for the BHS Christmas in July press preview last week. This was a real treat for me as BHS is always one of my must visit destinations at Christmas, mainly for its fantastic array of Christmas decorations. But the press preview gave me a great glimpse of the things we will be buying from BHS in the months ahead. And I have to say, there is so much more to the collections that crackers and tinsel!

In terms of decorations and trimmings, red and white are definitely the colours. BHS have gone down a  traditional route, with lots of glitter and snow smattering the proceedings. The lauch had ‘Joy’ and a Christmas star at its heart, and this adorned the walls. Pretty red trestle tables were lined through the middle of  the room in order to showcase the, baubles, candles and crackers that will be on offer very soon. There were an array of tree decorations that will be perfect for a fashionista, mini dresses and glitter covered sandals to hang on your tree, whilst you wait for Santa to bring you the real thing. The whole feeling of the Christmas themed goods was that of tradition, yet with a modern, vibrant theme.

The gift selection was also good. Baylis and Harding have upped their game and are presenting chic red travel bags filled with sweet-smelling toiletries, whilst the men’s selection features a soft bathrobe and more smellies. There are toys that would suit both big and small boys, the remote control Ferrari is sure to be a crowd pleaser. For your little princesses there was a lovely selection of real party dresses that would sort budding Suri Cruise’s out for every occasion, adorned with netting and lace, and alpine knits are proving that they will not be going away anytime soon.

BHS have always been known for their fabulous array of coats, and this year is no exception. The women’s collection is a sea of colour, magenta, orange, navy, teal and red are all represented. The men’s selection has a real military feel to it, with double and single breasted designs.

And, of course, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without partywear. This season, the 1970s theme continues with Studio 54 style dresses, pleated skirts, beaded tops and slinky maxi and midi dresses that skim your body and flatter the figure. Kitten bow blouses and silk chinoiserie jackets add to  the opulent feel.

BHS always does Christmas well, and this season looks like being no exception. It features the traditional, the modern and the aspirational – all under one roof.
