The 12 Days of Christmas with I see me

I See Me are the leading personalised book company in America with celebrity fans that include the likes of Courtney Cox and Jessica Alba. This Christmas they are also catering to the UK market too with a number of titles, including a rather lovely, new version of that perennial Christmas classic, ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’. I have been sent a special copy for my lovely niece Renee, and can confirm it is a lovely Christmas gift that both children, and parents will treasure.

This is a beautiful hardback book, that is initially personalised with a picture of the recipient on the title page, along with a dedication or personal message. A high resolution close up of the child works best in this situation, and I think any child would be really excited to see their picture in a real book.

Once inside the book, the story of the ’12 Days of Christmas’ is changed to make it more child friendly, and to bring the story up to date. This means there are no ‘lords-a-leaping’ or ‘pipers-piping’. But the spirit of Christmas is retained. We now have ‘3 fun bears’ and ‘4 bright robots’ along with ‘6 bikes-a-spinning’, all very cutely illustrated with brightly coloured images.

The book is personalised in many different ways. The Text refers to the child – i.e ‘Renee was thrilled to see…’, but there are also personalised tags on the gifts, ribbons on the tree and flags on those 6 bicycles. Throughout  the book the child can clearly see that the book is not only a gift for them, but is also all about them, they are the stars of the story. In addition, you can also add extra children to the ribbons and the good children list that lies at the end of the story – this could be siblings or friends, a lovely touch that just makes the book that bit more special.

‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ is a gorgeous Christmas gift that would be loved and treasured for many years.
