The Ariella Dress From Lighthouse

Christmas day dressing requires different things for different people. For some, it is all about the sequins and the sparkles, for other, a Christmas jumper is just the ticket, and for many, the perfect outfit is something that is both stylish, but also practical and comfortable. Something that looks lovely, but also allows you to cook Christmas Dinner (and then consume lots of it), is comfortable enough to wear as you’re on the floor unwrapping presents and playing with the kids. If this is your choice, then you need look no further, as the Ariella Dress from Lighthouse Clothing totally fits the brief.

Lighthouse is a brilliant brand that combines the best in outdoor dressing, with their key products being their amazing rain wear that is designed, with love, in Northern Island. But there is a lot more than just raincoats to Lighthouse clothing, and the Ariella dress is proof of this. Not only is it the ‘holy grail’ – aka a dress with pockets, but it comes in the most incredible raspberry pink shade that is just gorgeous.

The Ariella is a button through, shirt style dress, but in a very soft and stretchy jersey which adds to it’s comfort levels. It can be buttoned right up to the neck, or you could create a neckline if you have a bigger bust by leaving a couple of buttons open, or more buttons open if you decided to wear a camisole underneath in a contrasting colour.

The dress is a flattering midi length, so you could add a high knee boot for a stylish 1970’s look, or an ankle or Chelsea boot for more casual dressing (I opted for this as I was wearing this for a Christmas shopping trip.) A blazer worn over this would be a really smart look that could actually be great work wear, whilst a chunky Arran knit would be make a cute retro look.

The dress doesn’t come with a belt, so you can either wear it loose, or add a belt of your own to add in a contrast colour. I would suggest sizing up if you have a larger bust to avoid to much button puckering as this is a neat fit.
