The Cannes fashion fest has begun

My favourite feast of fashion is finally here, and I am unbelievably excited. Yes, the Cannes film festival has begun, and with the likes of Sienna Miller, Lupita Nyong’o, Natalie Portman, Naomi Watts, and (sighs) Fan Bingbing in attendence, the bar is set for some amazing fashion looks.

I love the drama and decadence of Cannes, the gorgeous weather and stunning scenary just seems to lend itself to the most exquisite of photo opps, and the stars always seem to deliver in abundance. Who can forget last years movie star masterclass from Blake Lively, when she appeared in beautiful look after beautiful look. Other stars who have ruled that red carpet include Jessica Chastain, Freida Pinto and the always immaculate Diane Kruger.

It remains to be seen who will be the Queen of the Cannes red carpet this year, but the smart money is probably on fashion’s darling Lupita. She made a truly iconic start tonight in jade green Gucci. It was a total dream of a dress. But was it the best dressed? I also loved the stately elegance of Sienna Miller in Lanvin, Fan BingBing in Ralph & Russo, and Naomi Watts in Elie Saab.
