Last week, Debenhams in the Bullring held a glorious beauty gala for the first time in many years. Bloggers, customers and beauty addicts were invited along for a night of demonstrations and pampering treats, along with food and drink, and the chance to win lots of beauty goodies, and a fabulous night was had by all.
Two sessions that I really enjoyed were demonstrated by uber beauty brand Benefit. The first demonstration concerned an autumn makeover, and the products were distributed so you could try them for yourself. I was particularly impressed with the ‘Pore Fessional’ pro balm, which can be used to minimize the appearance of pores. I was instructed to use this on the gap between my thumb and finger, where there are a lot of fine lines to get an idea of how this works. It was incredible, the lines appeared noticeably fainter, and this has made me add this product to my beauty list.
A second product I also loved was Majorette. This is a gorgeous peachy pink cream that is a cream-to-powder booster blush. You can wear this alone, on cheeks and lips, or you can wear it under your favorite blush for an instant “pep-up.” It gives a lovely, subtle sheen, and a little goes a long way. Another must buy for the season that is notable for pinched cheeks!
We were also treated to a little look at some of the beautiful gift packages that Benefit have put together for Christmas 2014. Benefit then moved on to a session on face mapping with a view to the perfect sculptured eye brows. As someone who has never had my eye brows waxed or professionally plucked, I was surprised at how scientific and mathematical this is. Chloe (pictured above) was a superb model, but I’m still not convinced this is for me…

The second session that I enjoyed was from Elemis. I have already been to an in depth Elemis session at Debenhams in the late Summer, so this was revisiting some ground, but the addition of the massage bed added interest to this session, and it was good to hear how many bloggers had changed their skincare routine following previous advice from the Elemis team.
This was another fabulous event from Debenhams, made even more enjoyable with a selection of wines from Cafe Rouge. At the end of the evening, we were all presented with one of the best goodie bags I have ever seen, totally full of beauty and fragrance treats.
What I wore.
With huge thanks once again to Kim Stephens for the invitation, and Debenhams for a fab evening.
