What To Wear On Your First Virtual Date

A first date is always about the frenzy of emotions, the fluttery feeling in your stomach, the nerves of will he/she turn up, what will you find to talk about, will you hit it off, or will the date flounder? In recent years the trend of speed dating has really took off; it gives you the option to meet lots of people and avoids the problem of long silences when you realise you have nothing in common with your date – you will simply move on to the next one.

Dateinadash always host the most fabulous speed dating events, and during lockdown they have developed virtual speed dating in response to Covid 19. The events are proving to be popular as lonely singles are given a chance to meet a whole host of new people, giving them a chance to find love without even leaving their homes. But even if you are staying home to stay safe, this is definitely not an excuse to stay in your pyjamas, this is still a date and you still need to dress to impress.

First Virtual Date Style

The key to first virtual date, or speed date dressing, is that this is all about the style above the waist. You are going to be dating through your phone, your laptop, maybe through Zoom, so hair, make up and wearing something attractive on your top half of you body is important.

This is going to be very different from how you approach a date from our favorite hookup apps. When you’re going to meet so many different people it can be much more difficult to land on any particular style or color. Fortunately, we can help you strike the right balance between sexy and fun without being too risque!

You need to think about colour, what colours suit you, and how they show off your personality. A crisp white shirt worn with jeans may be a fabulous look on an actual date, but when your wearing that sitting in front of a neutral wall, it will look quite washed out and dull – is that the image you are going for. Far better to wear something with a touch of detail – a print, a frill, a puffed sleeve maybe, just something that will raise the level of your look.

If you tend to be minimalist in style, why not add a statement piece of jewellery, or some sort of hair clip to catch the eye. On the other hand, if your look is high glamour, why not curl that hair and add a red lip to your look – this is a date after all.
