William and Kate welcome baby George to the World
After all the speculation and tantalising slips of the tongue indicating that Baby Cambridge was going to be a girl, Kate and William have now welcomed a beautiful little Prince by the name of George Alexander Louis to the world. And it seems the world is already besotted with the gorgeous little bundle.
Kate looked amazing, choosing to wear a cornflower blue and white dotted crepe de chine dress by Jenny Packham. This was a great stylish choice, the empire line showing that Kate had no intention of hiding her remaining baby bump, and the colour obviously echoing William’s blue jeans and shirt. The trusty Pied A Terre wedges made another appearance, making this a perfect outfit for what was a pretty sticky, hot day.
The choice of a dotted dress made me think back to when Princess Diana left the same hospital, St Mary’s Paddington, with baby William in June 1982. Diana had worn a green dotted maternity dress as she left hospital, a look that was roundly criticised at the time, both for the maternity style, and for the pop socks that she teamed with it. Kate’s dress, whilst definitely more well received, is a nice nod to the woman sadly no longer there to enjoy her first grandchild.
Today the Royal couple have left London for Bucklebury , where they will be able to enjoy some much deserved family bonding time. Kate was glimpsed through the car window, wearing another great look, this time from maternity brand Seraphine. The short-sleeved knot front dress is just lovely, with pretty knot detail, a great length, and comfy stretchy fabric, perfect for a new mom to travel in.
With the excitement over the Royal birth, many brands are offering some amazing offers and discounts to celebrate the new Prince.
