Made in Italy – Sister & Sister
The latest in my series of birthday week reviews brings something a little bit topical on the day that England take on Italy in the World Cup. As you can imagine, with a name like Iannarilli I am torn in my support, cheering England all the way, but also hoping Italy get through too, as I have a partial Italian family and just love the Country. I also love the style and design that comes from Italy and so am very happy to introduce Sister & Sister. Sister & Sister are Simona Guarducci and Rosy Gadda Conti. The idea behind the brand is that ‘dreams do leave a mark…and they…

The AEGON Classic Ladies Day at the Edgbaston Priory
Yesterday was pretty much my perfect day. It was glorious in the sunshine, filled with delicious food and Pimms by the jug. I spent it with wonderful friends and we watched some really impressive tennis in the sun. And I got to wear a gorgeous dress from Jacques Vert that had been specially gifted for the occasion. Yes, it was the AEGON Classic ladies day, held at the Edgbaston Priory in Birmingham, and it was all just fab! Ladies Day is always a pretty special occasion, a time to dress up, dig out the fascinator, and basically have a day of being glamorous – a real break from the norm.…

World Blood Donor Day – Safe Blood for Saving Mothers
Saturday 14th of June is World Blood Donor Day, which this year has a focus on safe blood for saving mothers. Even in these modern times, childbirth can still be an extremely dangerous time for women, particularly in the Third World. Every day, about 800 women die from pregnancy or childbirth-related complications. This can be severe bleeding during delivery and after childbirth, and I speak from my own experience when I say that what should be the happiest moment of your life can very quickly become a living nightmare. My son Joe was born by caesarian section at 33 weeks. The operation seemed routine and I was fine in the…

Flax PR Press Day
The Flax PR Autumn/Winter press day was a real treat for those who love great quality fashion and beauty. The PR company represents brands like Petit Bateau, Helen Moore and Cabbage and Roses, and the press day was the perfect showcase for classic, luxury brands. There were innovative raincoats from Terra New York, in beautiful bright colours. Petit Bateau made me fall in love with the printed peg trousers, perfect when teamed with block coloured quilted sweatshirts and tops. Similarly, I adored the wealth of faux fur on show from Helen Moore. This is all made in England and seems to be a huge story for Autumn/Winter 2014. There were…

Bandai Toys – More from the Power Rangers
Last year I wrote a review of some of the fab toys from the Power Rangers range that were enjoying a resurgence in popularity due to a new TV series. The review proved to be very popular and showed that since the 1990s, Power Rangers had never really disappeared from the hearts and minds of kids young, and not so young. The lovely people at Bandai have recently sent Joe some more of the range for review. As a huge Power Rangers fan he was very excited to receive some of the role play items, as well as a couple of the action figures. Power Rangers Megaforce Basic Ranger Training…
