Beauty That Doesn’t Cost The Earth
As a nation I genuinely believe that we are getting better when it comes to sustainability and recycling. We try to recycle our glass, cans and plastic, with every home having a recycling bin. We take our own bags when we go shopping in order to avoid plastic carrier bags, stores like the Clean Kilo who avoid excess packaging are growing in popularity and even supermarkets are leaving fruit and some veg out of packaging (most fruits have skin so hardly need to be covered in a bag.) But when it comes to our beauty, we start to falter. Most of our beauty products come in plastic bottles and tubes.…

Making the Most of your Garden this Summer
Although the great British Summer is notoriously unpredictable when it comes to the weather, the warm, sunny spells we had last Summer, and also this April do give us a chance to make the most of our garden or outdoor space, whilst we can. Due to being neglected during the winter months and the lack of sunshine we are often faced with, even in British summertime, many people are unsure how to make the most of their gardens when it begins to warm up. The thought of cutting bushes, potting plants and mowing lawns can be pretty daunting to some and many of us don’t have the money to go…

Let’s Talk About Gut Health
Gut Health issues are becoming increasingly common and yet are still a bit of an embarrassing problem that we try to avoid talking about. But whilst trends are transient, true style, in the form of the classics, remains. In a new book, Lauren Cochrane, senior fashion writer at The Guardian, tackles those style classics, aka ‘The Ten’, showing their history, the way we have wore them, and how relevant they are to fashion today and going forward. The Ten are, in no particular…

Football: It’s In Your Blood
I got goosebumps watching the FA Cup final yesterday, on so many levels. Seeing 20,000+ fans in Wembley Stadium, cheering on their team in numbers not seen since before Covid was just joyous. Add in the continued fairy tale of Leicester City, winning for the first time, the sheer jubilation from the players, their owner and the fans, and it truly showed why football can be life affirming and beautiful. And it got me so excited for this week… My team is West Bromwich Albion. I have supported them all my life along with the rest of my family, including my twelve year old son. We now live in Wolverhampton,…
