Chanel Coco Rouge shine makeovers in Selfridges.
To celebrate the launch of the new Chanel Coco Rouge Shine lip colours, Selfridges, Birmingham offered special makeovers to all customers, carried out by a very special range of Chanel make-up artists. Fashion-Mommy and sister were lucky enough last week to experience one of these make-overs, being transformed through the wonderful work of Dawn and Jenny. Both are veteran Chanel make-up artists, Dawn has worked on numerous Chanel Catwalk shows in Paris as well as creating the beautiful looks for Audrey Tattou in ‘Coco before Chanel‘. Why age no longer defines fashion.
I have the same New Look dress as Rochelle from The Saturdays. Rochelle is in her early twenties, I am in my mid 30’s. Which begs the question – am I too old for this dress, or is the dress too old for Rochelle? The answer, happily, is no on both counts. Five Minutes with Helen Boyle – a quick chat with a Fashionista.
Fashion-Mommy was lucky enough to meet Fashion stylist and TV presenter Helen Boyle at the ‘Newlife at Home’ launch. Helen is a true fashionista, with more than ten years experience in the fashion industry. Sha has worked as the resident fashion stylist on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ and was more recently the fashion producer and co-presenter on Sky 1’s ‘Angela and friends’. In addition to this, Helen was the fashion producer on one of my favourite programmes, Channel 4’s ‘Gok’s Fashion Fix‘. Fashion-Mommy was able to put a few questions to a true style heroine. Fashion-Mommy: How did you get into fashion? Helen Boyle: Through sheer hard work. I started of…

The perfume diaries – the sweet smell of Harrods
A look back at an amazing exhibition from 2010 – The Perfume Diaries! Fashion-Mommy was lucky enough to get to see ‘The Perfume Diaries’ exhibition that was showing at Harrods recently, and I am pleased to say that it both looked, and smelt amazing. Perfume has been with us for a long time, far longer than I would have believed, and the Harrods exhibition was a celebration of this fact. There was a selection of herbs and flowers that go to make up different perfumes, and a selection of vials that you could smell, although some of these were extremely strong, a bit like smelling salts. Every top brand was…

Today was the day of the grand opening of the new TK MAXX store on the Gallagher Retail Park, and Fashion Mommy was invited along to take a look. There was already a long queue of eager fashionista’s waiting for the store to open when Fashion-Mommy arrived.
