Friction Free Shaving Launch at Bar Opus
When it comes to shaving, it seems women are getting a rough deal, and not just due to shaving rash. We tend to pay more for our products, and suffer with inferior bits of pink plastic. And, if we decide that we would like to invest in a better class of razor, like men are able to do, we find that these are just not available for women. Until now that is. Friction Free Shaving is a start up based in my neck of the woods (i.e. Cannock, Staffordshire) that wants to give women the same choice, quality and value as men when it comes to shaving. It offers a…

Breakfast at Tiffany’s at the New Alexandra Theatre
It is an iconic book that became an iconic movie classic. Now ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ has been turned into a play that opened at Birmingham’s New Alexandra Theatre this week, with pop starlet Pixie Lott stepping into the not inconsiderable shoes of Audrey Hepburn to play Holly Golightly. But fans of the Hollywood movie version may be surprised with the differences in the story, and, if you require a pre-requisite Hollywood happy ending, this may not be the show for you. The Rotters Club – Teen Angst in 70s Birmingham
If you asked me to name my favourite book, I could do it quite easily. ‘The Rotters Club’ by Jonathan Coe is a coming of age novel set in 1970s Birmingham, complete with teenage crushes, ‘prog rock’, meals at the Bernie Inn, and the horror of the Birmingham Pub Bombings. The Rotters Club will make you laugh, make you cry and make you smile, and it has now been bought vividly to life by The Young Rep, the Birmingham Rep’s Youth Theatre. The action starts in 1973 and follows the high school life of Ben Trotter (or Bent Rotter as he is more commonly referred to). Ben is a pupil…

The Body Shop Drops of Youth – The Verdict.
In February I was invited along to The Body Shop in Birmingham’s Grand Central to try out a range of new products. Called Drops of Youth, these products were infused with plant stem cells that were believed to make the skin look smoother and replenished, and yes, younger looking after continual use. (Ypu can read my initial post here.) I have now been using the products daily for a month, and wanted to share my findings with you, is the Drops of Youth range really ‘all that’ when it comes to protecting and revitalising the skin? My Skin issues Ageing skin Redness on the cheekbones area, this is generally in…
