The Bullring Autumn Fashion Fix
Last weekend we saw the annual Bullring Autumn Fashion Fix bringing a spot of TOWIE glamour to the iconic shopping centre. Two of the main stars from the ITV2 series, ‘The Only Way is Essex’, Sam and Billie Faiers, were in the 2nd City to present a fashion show high on style, but with many pieces plucked from the High Street. This year’s show promised to be a guide to the season’s must have trends, and it certainly delivered on that front. Comprising of 6 key scenes;- ‘The Cosmo Edit’, ‘Faux Fur’, ‘Tapestry Folk’, ‘Shades of Red’, ‘New Pastels’ and, finally, ‘Metallics’, this was a show with one eye firmly…

The Debenhams Beauty Gala
Last week, Debenhams in the Bullring held a glorious beauty gala for the first time in many years. Bloggers, customers and beauty addicts were invited along for a night of demonstrations and pampering treats, along with food and drink, and the chance to win lots of beauty goodies, and a fabulous night was had by all. Two sessions that I really enjoyed were demonstrated by uber beauty brand Benefit. The first demonstration concerned an autumn makeover, and the products were distributed so you could try them for yourself. I was particularly impressed with the ‘Pore Fessional’ pro balm, which can be used to minimize the appearance of pores. I was…

Strictly Come Dancing is Back!
One of my most treasured television treats twisted, tangoed and shimmied it’s way back onto our screens last night. Strictly Come Dancing is back, and the new series already looks like being an absolute corker. The first episode gave us the serious chemistry of Pasha and the gorgeous Caroline Flack, the swinging sixties appeal of Pixie Lott and lookalike partner Trent Whiddon, and the seriously impressive tango from Eastenders Max Branning, aka actor Jake Wood. We also had Tim Wonnacott who was adorable and hilarious, and could be this year’s John Sargeant. It was a seriously entertaining start to the new series, and with the judges on fine form too,…

Oh what a lunchtime – Jersey Boys launches at The Jamhouse
Well, I can think of far worse ways to spend my lunchtime than listening to the music of the Four Seasons. This is exactly what I did yesterday when I attended the press launch for the smash hit musical Jersey Boys, which will be arriving at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham in December. The multi-award winning musical tells the story of the Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, famous for so many wonderful hits, including ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, ‘Walk like a Man’, ‘Beggin’ and my personal favourite, ‘Sherry’. Set in 1962, the ‘Jersey Boys’ were from the wrong side of town, and yet became one of the most…

Harvey Nichols Birmingham is taking style underground
I have been to fashion shows in the strangest of places. In shopping centres, in the middle of Department stores, in plush hotels, historic buildings and industrial abandoned spaces. All have been bold and brilliant in their own way. But I can honestly say I have never been to a fashion show held in an underground car park…until now that is. Harvey Nichols, Birmingham, based in the cities Mailbox complex is hosting its Autumn/Winter fashion show in the most unlikeliest of locations – The Mailbox Car park! Destined to be as memorable an event as its other recent shows, the show will be taking place next Thursday evening (25th September),…
