Hawkins Bazaar – Toys for Little boys and big boys
It’s around this time of year that I start to plan Christmas. Yes, it may seem a little early to some (and a little late to others!) but due to having Joe’s birthday very close to Christmas, along with two family wedding anniversaries, I find a little forward planning works well for me. Part of that planning involves writing about Christmas present ideas for Joe and Pete, and while Joe used to be very easy, now he is solely into football, this is not the case. And, as for Pete, what do you buy the man who seems to have everything? Hawkins Bazaar is actually an answer to those questions.…

Chocolate Laden Afternoon Tea at Cadbury World
What in the world could be better than afternoon tea? Afternoon tea featuring chocolate products from Cadbury World, that’s what. Last week I went to experience this absolute treat with the lovely Emily Jayne, and we were treated to an afternoon tea with a definite point of difference, the sites and tastes of the Cadbury World Experience. Recovering Yourself after Becoming a Mum
Having children, whether naturally, by adoption or blending a family, is a trying period. With any of these options chances are you are becoming a mother for the first time. There’s a huge learning curve period and you’re apt to lose yourself in the bliss of new-parenthood. It’s important to remember that you are a person and that you have your own thoughts and needs. One of the many things women forget about when they become mums is their own sense of self. Our lives get…

Annabelle Neilson talks about the Me Me Me’s
Fresh from the successful launch of the ‘Me Me Me’s’ I was asked if I wanted to put a few questions to its author, fashion model and muse to Alexander McQueen, Annabelle Neilson. Of course, this is an offer that is too good to refuse, so this morning I am treating Fashion-Mommy readers to a lovely glimpse into the life of Annabelle, and inspiration for the fantastic new book series. 1) What made you decide to move into the area of Children’s books? I don’t feel that I decided, I started writing ‘On The Pond’ and then a couple of other short pieces; it just happened as…

Spending a weekend in Blackpool
Last weekend was a special one, as we spent Friday to Sunday in one of my favourite places, Blackpool. Blackpool is one of those places that you can visit happily all year around, but in all honesty, it really comes alive once September arrives, as this is when the illuminations are turned on, and the Lancashire seaside town becomes the Las Vegas of Northern England. This post is dedicated to some of the things you can do during a weekend in Blackpool, because, once again, we had a fabulous, family time there. The key to Blackpool is to stay somewhere central so that you can enjoy walking around the town.…
