White Christmas sprinkles Christmas Magic
A little bit like the advent calender’s that popped up everywhere yesterday, the 1st of December also saw the Wolverhampton Grand theatre opening the doors to the latest seasonal classic, the musical stage version of ‘White Christmas’ . The frothy, sparking musical, based upon the classic Bing Crosby/Danny Kaye Paramount Pictures film, was staged with style and panache by the South Staffs Musical Theatre Company. It was an utterly charming, crowd pleasing piece that left the audience leaving the theatre with a warm glow truly believing Christmas had arrived. We start in 1944, where Privates Bob Wallace and Phil Davis are entertaining the troops on Christmas Eve. Flash forward 10…

Gift Guide – 10 Unusual Gift Ideas
Some people are very easy to buy for at Christmas. They may be clothes obsessed, or love their perfume (or aftershave), or may have a hobby that makes choosing a gift simple. It may be that they have actually told you exactly what they want, taking all the guess work out of finding the gift. A Beefeater Christmas – Not a Turkey in sight
As much as I love turkey (and I really do) it comes to the point when you really feel like you’d be happy never to see another one ever again. That point usually comes for me sometime in mid December, long before we’ve even got to Christmas day, and is caused by a myriad of family, friends and blogger meals, all of which have the Christmas theme, the Christmas turkey and the Christmas pudding. Which is why I think the Beefeater Grill chain has it just right this year, with an alternative Christmas menu. We went along to the Longford House restaurant in Cannock to check it out before it…

Megableu games – Review and Competition
Following on from the Megableu games review that arrived just in time for Halloween, we recently received three further games from Megableu to play with and enjoy. The games were Cobra Attack, Trickin Camel and Alien Mission, and either one of these would be a very welcome addition to any child’s Christmas stocking. They show that games have come a long way from Ludo and Snakes and Ladders. Joe totally fell in love with Cobra Attack, not least because it is a game that centres around a snake, which is my number one phobia and hence is very funny in the eyes of a 6 year old. The Cobra Attack…

PNP Santa – Festive fun for all the family
Every child loves a message from Santa, whether this be a personalised letter or a visit to a grotto. Last year I discovered a third way of receiving an amazing letter in the form of a video from Portable North Pole. This is a unique and personal video that can be created for any child, with the gold package, which gives you access to unlimited videos in a range of themes, costing just £9.99. PNP videos are just so much fun, they have been created to a really high specification, looking just like a mini Hollywood movie. Santa is just how you would imagine him to be, and the elves…
