Some people are very easy to buy for at Christmas. They may be clothes obsessed, or love their perfume (or aftershave), or may have a hobby that makes choosing a gift simple. It may be that they have actually told you exactly what they want, taking all the guess work out of finding the gift. Or it may simply be that you know them so well you always seem to know exactly what they would love to find in their stocking.

But what about the more difficult ones? The ones who always answer with ‘I don’t want’ or ‘I don’t need’ anything? The ones who literally have you ripping your hair out in frustration as you try to find that perfect gift. Well, I think it is safe to say that we all have someone like that. So, this year, instead of looking for something practical, or sensible, why not try for something quirky and unusual.
This gift guide has presents from Selfridges, John Lewis, Topshop and Gizoo, all of which fall on just the right side of quirky. I love the Skinny Dip Planet bag, and the fabulous Fairground Popcorn Machine. The piece de resistance may just be the Conran stapler though – perfect for any stationary fiend.
Do you ever choose quirky gifts?
