Reviewed – Next Teal Baroque Dress
If you are looking for a versatile dress that can take you anywhere this season, then step this way. I was recently sent the Teal Baroque dress from Next, and I have to say this is one dress that you can literally wear for any occasion. It is wonderfully rich in colour, very comfortable to wear, and seems to be impossible to crease – what’s not to love? I am most definitely a dress person, and after a bit of an obsession with 1950s style shapes, lately I’ve been tempted back to the world of the neat shift dress. But I do have a few stipulations. Christmas Party Dresses
First comes the Coco Cola adverts, then the building of the Christmas markets, and finally the countdown to our big Christmas party…getting into the Christmas spirit can be exciting or daunting. But as long as you can be super organised this can be a very magical time of the year. Phase Eight Press day

All of these words would aptly describe the beauty of the collection for Spring/Summer 2014 that Phase Eight unveiled in it’s James Street store last week. The whole collection just made my swoon. Made up of 1950s style floral prints that seemed to have been inspired by Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina, these are the dresses that will take you to every Summer wedding, every Ladies Day or Regatta. Grosgrain ribbon belts just…

Fashion on a budget – 20 party pieces under £20
I read an interesting article this Summer about a woman who had been invited to a great deal of weddings. She had spent a fortune on different outfits, so much in fact that the total bill had run into thousands. The reason for this was the need to look brilliant, but also different at every wedding, especially as some of the same people would be attending each ceremony. I think it can be a little bit like that at Christmas. It is the one time of the year when you want to sparkle and shine, and also the one when the most invites tend to drop onto the mat (or inbox…

Bear and Hare – an ebook is on the way
‘Bear and Hare’ is this year’s outstanding seasonal offering in the advert department. Telling the heartwarming story of the friendship between a brown bear and a hare, it is a magical viewing experience from John Lewis that is delighting both adults and children. The accompanying song, the Keane classic ‘Somewhere only we know’ has entered the charts at number 2, and now children will get the chance to follow the full story of the delightful animal friends has John Lewis launches a special ebook based on the tale of ‘Bear and Hare.’ ‘The Bear who had never seen Christmas’ is an interactive storybook narrated by Lauren Laverne, telling the story…
