Fashion on a budget – 20 party pieces under £20
I read an interesting article this Summer about a woman who had been invited to a great deal of weddings. She had spent a fortune on different outfits, so much in fact that the total bill had run into thousands. The reason for this was the need to look brilliant, but also different at every wedding, especially as some of the same people would be attending each ceremony.
I think it can be a little bit like that at Christmas. It is the one time of the year when you want to sparkle and shine, and also the one when the most invites tend to drop onto the mat (or inbox in this technical era). Work and office parties, house parties, family parties, New Years Eve balls, trips to the Theatre, the Panto, drinks with friends, the list of potential nights out are endless. And they start earlier each year. I have a party celebration evening this week, along with a trip to the opening of the Nutcracker ballet, with more events to follow next week, and we haven’t even hit December yet. The strain on your wardrobe, and your purse when purchasing new outfits, can be just too much.
But fear not, a new outfit, or accessories to dress up an old one, needn’t break the bank. Here I have selected twenty pieces, ranging from dresses, separates and accessories, all of which cost £20 or under. There are my top five picks from George at Asda, Dorothy Perkins and Boohoo. Proof that you can do serious style on a shoestring.
