Christmas starts with Marisota
At the end of November I was invited to be a model for the Marisota Christmas campaign. I have to say that I read the email over and over in disbelief, not quite believing that they wanted me to be included. But it was an offer I could not refuse, so I could a trip to the JD Williams offices in Manchester in order to take part in a festive fashion shoot that I can honestly say was one of the best experiences of my life. A fashion shoot isn’t all glamour. There is an awful lot of sitting around waiting for things to happen, and each chosen photograph has…

DP Curve is launched
This week has seen the launch of the latest plus size collection to hit the High Street. This time around it is Dorothy Perkins who are expanding their range with DP Curve, a new collection that goes from sizes 18 to 28. Dorothy Perkins promise that this collection is specially designed to ‘fit and flatter a fuller figure’. I have been browsing the site this morning, and have selected my favourite 10 pieces. There are skinny jeans and leggings with tunics and tops for the rock chick and pretty skater style dresses that will appeal to younger…

Wallis launch their latest W collection

The new range also has enough sparkle and bling to show we are heading towards the festive season. The new range is an eclectic collection that combines tailoring, outerwear and elegant dresses. There are 30s style, wide leg trousers, 50s style Bardot dresses, the sort most recently seen on Kylie Minogue on The Voice,…

Fashion on a budget – 20 party pieces under £20
I read an interesting article this Summer about a woman who had been invited to a great deal of weddings. She had spent a fortune on different outfits, so much in fact that the total bill had run into thousands. The reason for this was the need to look brilliant, but also different at every wedding, especially as some of the same people would be attending each ceremony. I think it can be a little bit like that at Christmas. It is the one time of the year when you want to sparkle and shine, and also the one when the most invites tend to drop onto the mat (or inbox…

Miss Selfridge evening jackets – a style must have.
If you can’t afford to buy lots of different outfits for going out this season, then it might be worth investing in a statement piece that can turn any outfit into a party outfit. My top investment piece this season has to be the evening jacket. Miss Selfridge currently has a fabulous collection of jackets that can be worn over your little black dress to add glitz and glamour, but can also be worn most stylishly over skinny jeans or simple black trousers and a cami to create lots of different looks for so many different evening occasions, from the cinema to a smart restaurant, and also to any glamorous…
