Wallis launch their latest W collection

The launch of the Wallis W collection is fast becoming something that I really look forward to. A grown up collection that is full of smart pieces that can be mixed and matched with each other, and with the rest of your wardrobe, the W collection mixes great British style with elements of cool French tailoring. The new range also has enough sparkle and bling to show we are heading towards the festive season.

The new range is an eclectic collection that combines tailoring, outerwear and elegant dresses. There are 30s style, wide leg trousers, 50s style Bardot dresses, the sort most recently seen on Kylie Minogue on The Voice, and also jumpers in 70s style lurex, recalling the era of Glam Rock, and then Studio 54. Skirts are pencil style and knee-length, making them good for work wear, but they also come in fabrics like lace which then gives a very different look.

Wallis say that the new collection is a combination of the need for simplicity – for pieces that can easily be worn everyday, but that due to the new season being darker and murkier as Winter draws in, there is also a real need for decoration. This means sparkle, embellishment, metallic elements and at least a few bright colours thrown into the mix.

On the website, we also get a sneaky look at some of the products that will be coming soon – and I defy you not to be blown away by the leather pencil skirts in black, berry and the most glorious blue. Similarly, the Downton Abbey style sequin dresses in Ink Blue and Berry have Christmas party written all over them.
