November is always a busy month, because it is when the road to Christmas really begins. So this month has been filled with really lovely events, shows and parties which has been a great excuse to get into my second wardrobe. This is one that lives in my son’s room and contains my party wear, the clothes covered in sequins, sparkle and glitter. It’s Black Friday…week!
First there were just regular sales, with the biggest and most anticipated being the January Sales. Then America launched Black Friday, a day of huge discounts and bargains that came after Thanksgiving and got people into the Christmas mood. Soon this trend made its way across the Atlantic and we had fights over televisions at Midnight on that last Friday in November. And now, in the latest development, Black Fri-day has turned into Black Fri-week, with sales and discounts now lasting right up to Cyber Monday. As far as I am concerned, M&S have officially won Christmas. I love Buster the Boxer, but Janet McTeer, in her glamorous red outfit, totally owns the screen as the glamorous, elegant Mrs Claus, saving the day for Jake and showing his sister how much he loves her. Mrs Claus is cool, unflappable, not one for reindeers or chimneys, but possibly the only person in the world who could make eating a mince pie seem like a glamorous activity.
