The Coat Edit
For sun worshipers, it is the time of year that we truly dread, the real coming of Autumn with the promise of Winter on the way. September has been a pretty lovely month, with plenty of Indian Summer moments to enjoy, but we can’t deny that the mornings now have that chilly feel, and the evenings are getting closer to the time when the dreaded central heating comes on…and stays on until at least March. In addition, the mornings are darker, the nights are drawing in, and it all leads to one, inescapable conclusion – we need to start talking about coats.
One of the best things about Winter is the gorgeous range of coats that are available. Whether you be a person who gets a new coat every year, or a person who buys quality that is made to last, there are coats that suit all price points, all tastes and all sizes. With all the various kinds of winter clothing, get familiarized with style such as peacoat vs overcoat. As we ease into Winter, there are plenty of jackets that can provide that initial cover up, with retro, pink lady style bomber jackets being very popular this season. Trenchcoat styles are ever popular, these are iconic and will literally be in your wardrobe forever and are well worth an investment.
Then there are the true warm styles, the coats that cry out for crisp winter mornings and cold days. The ones you want to team with hats and scarfs for your best Winter looks. The coats you will wear on Christmas morning as you deliver presents to the family. I’m not a fan of Winter in all it’s glory, but I do love a good Winter coat, and there are just so many available on the High Street, and online, this season. It would almost be a crime not to choose at least one – your wardrobe (and you of course) so deserves that treat.
Here are my key picks for a Winter treat

Love the pale blue trench coat. But it is too expensive but also liked the black draped duster coat. Nice picks

Love these coats! I’m really into the bright coloured coats, I’m covering a mustard one on asos at the mo. I feel we need bright colours for dull days!

That camel coat from Asda is gorgeous! It doesn’t look like it should be from a supermarket at all – I love it! I really want to find a plus size version of that yellow leather style jacket – fingers crossed!

I love that mustard faux leather jacket, such a good price too, such a huge shame it only goes up to a UK10! The patterned Evans bomber is lovely too. xx
