Style Icon of the month – Lana Del Rey
Maybe she is a recreation, with newly inflated lips and a retro image. Frankly I don’t care. She has the most amazing voice and in Video Games, one of the best songs and videos of the year. She also has truly incredible personal style. I am of course talking about Lana Del Rey, who is my style icon for the month of November. Lana has an old-fashioned film starlet feel. X Factor catch-up.
So, the last few weeks on the X Factor have produced some interesting outfit choices. For my mind, Kelly still wins the most stylish award hands down, but Tulisa has sported some interesting and rather gorgeous looks herself, including a rather showstopping gown from Bruce Oldfield. Here is a rundown of the looks,with a few ‘get the look’ ideas. Last Saturday saw Kelly channelling an androgynous look in a Stella McCartney tuxedo and cigarette pants. She’s Beyoncé’s little sister, but has a style all of her own, and is now emerging as the one to watch in the fashion stakes. This month Solange Knowles was my standout choice for icon of the month for her interesting mix of fabrics, styles and colours that make her hypnotically watchable, and totally unforgettable. It was rock week on the X Factor this week(not that anyone told Tulisa..I mean Kesha???), and that meant Saturday was the night for leather, studs and a whole lot of black outfits.
