Last night I stayed up very late to watch the 2014 SAG Awards (actually it was early this morning, but I’m not going to confuse matters. The SAG Awards are another in the stream of pre-Oscars events that often give pointers to who will win at the big event, and as such, the Hollywood a-list turn out in force. Traditionally the SAGs have been seen as a more relaxed affair, but that did not seem to be the case last night. The publicity stills and on-set photographs have got people pretty excited about a film set for release in March. ‘Grace of Monaco’ is a film about Princess Grace, formally Grace Kelly, and is set during the early 1960s, a period when the Princess considered returning to Hollywood filming in Hitchcock’s Marnie. The year’s first must-see film is released today, and could bring Studio 54 style into the mainstream once again. ‘American Hustle’ is set in 1978, and features an amazing cast of Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.
