One of my favourite things about visiting Wales is the chance to get back to Barmouth. And, once in Barmouth, there is one shop that I always have to pay a visit to, as you never know quite what you will find when you venture past the doors.
Luvit in Barmouth is a real independent to celebrate, as it is a store that also celebrates independent artisans, jewellery designers and artists, with a little bit of vintage thrown in for good measure. It is a shop that is perfect to visit when you are looking for a special present for someone, or if you are just looking to treat yourself.
It sells a little bit of everything, from vintage home wares that have been lovingly presented, to handmade jewellery, hand painted cards, fashion items like bags and scarfs, and a gorgeous array of soft toys. All the items are displayed in such a way that you really want to buy everything, in a beautiful building that resembles a rather quirky stone cottage.
It is very rare that I visit Luvit without taking something home with me. This time it was a very pretty grey scarf that is a great transitional piece. I also got some leather earrings in shocking pink. In the past I have bought a fabulous bag that looked like something from Accessorize, but with a price tag of less than £15, an original 1960s vanity case that was in perfect condition, books for Joe and my niece Renee, some kitchenalia including a cute Ovaltine mixer, lots of lovely, quirky items that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else.
If you are in Barmouth this Autumn, be sure to pay Luvit a visit. You can also check out their Instagram feed here, which is a great showcase for their lovely wares.
