Celebrity shoe trends for Spring
When it comes to looking at celebrity shoe trends, there always seems to be a pattern – that the shoes they wear, particularly on the red carpet, as strictly for those who travel everywhere by chaffeur driven limo. Vertiginous heels that are designed to give you vertigo, Louboutins that require you to sell a kidney in order to afford them, or some sort of strange creation that frankly defies gravity – not the sort of thing you are going to be wearing to the supermarket or whilst doing the school run.
But some celebrities book the heeled and silly shoe trends to wear things that are practical as well as stylish. Shoes that even us mere mortals could actually walk in without risk of breaking an ankle. Shoes that would work even if you needed to really pound the pavements.
Here are a couple of trends that could sing ‘these shoes are made for walking.’
Mary Janes
Classic, elegant, and ever popular, Mary Janes are a style favourite with a host of celebrities, ranging from Kate Moss to Emma Roberts, with Taylor Swift, SJP and Alexa Chung thrown in for good measure. Mary Janes actually come in a range of heel heights, with both single and double strap details. If you are looking for some lower heeled options, Reiker Shoes do some great styles that are both attractive and comfortable enough to wear every day.
Loafers
Loafers are the coolest shoes to wear with jeans, particularly boyfriend styles with turned up cuffs. The Loafer has become increasingly popular by those who like to dress down a glam frock, or add a slightly androgynous look to an outfit. The queen of the Loafer scene has to be Alexa Chung, who will wear them whether she is sitting front row at fashion week, walking a red carpet, or off duty with her favourite jeans.

Unfortunately no matter how popular they get, I can never see myself wearing loafers haha. I do love the style of Mary Janes though!

I like loafers if they are streamlined. I have a nice pink patent pair and a rose gold pair and they are a welcome change from heels x

What a lovely selection of shoes, I can see myself wearing all of them. I like the fact that they are not so high and the heels are just the right height.

I own about 5 pairs of Mary Janes, they are the only shoe with a slight heel that I can manage. Jo x

I love Mary Janes, I think they are probably my favourite style of shoe. I can’t wear heels anymore so love seeing flatter shoe ideas, thank you.

It’s nice to hear that the trend of shoes without heel is coming back again. I can’t walk on heels no matter what, so for me flat shoes are a blessing. 🙂

I am a big fan of Mary Janes as they work so well with all of my vintage style outfits especially when I can no longer really wear high heels. I am quite taken by those loafers too x

Those green Mary Janes worn by Taylor Swift are gorgeous. I can see myself wearing something like that but unfortunately I look ridiculous in loafers.

I love Taylor Swifts shoes in fact I have some similar. I really struggle with heels now so wearing kitten heels or flats work best for me. Great ideas
