Charlotte Casiraghi shines at Cannes

She is the face of Gucci, and the spitting image of her mother, Princess Caroline of Monaco, when she was a young woman. And now Charlotte Casiraghi can add the toast of the Cannes film festival to her accolades. Charlotte appeared on the red carpet at the screening of Madagascar 3 on Monday and showed that she is swiftly developing a sensuous style all of her own.

The beautiful brunette opted for a teal ruffled dress from Gucci. This was a far sexier style than our own Duchess of Cambridge would opt for. A plunging neckline that was softened by the ruffled pleated edges, with a bar back and then further ruffles on the front, giving the dress a Spanish Flamenco feel.

Ruffles are always a good option for Summer, both for daytime wear and evening wear. They give a romantic feel to any dress,  add interest, and can be used to both accentuate, and add curves. This particular dress is given added drama due to the teal colour, you can almost imagine this dress in a fiery red shade, or as a blast of shocking pink.

Collection by John Lewis sleeveless linen dress £69

This linen dress from John Lewis has a gorgeous, vibrant blue shade, with the ruffles kept to the neckline. I could see Kate Middleton looking fabulous in this…and it is one of her favourite colours…

Pussycat sleeveless ruffle dress £22

This dress by Pussycat is an absolute bargain at £22, and has a younger feel to it. This dress would look great with a pair of Jeffrey Campbell fierce heels or wedges.

The pink dress from Lauren by Ralph Lauren is my absolute favourite ruffled dress. I love the raspberry shade, the pretty ruffled neckline, and the simple tie belt. You can get this dress from John Lewis for £130. I think this is a great buy as this dress is timeless and you will wear it again and again.
