Kate and Pippa’s Stylish Spring Weekend

This weekend saw the sun come back to raise all our spirits, and it proved to be another stylish weekend for the Middleton sisters, who showed us great ways to wear bold colour and pretty pastels. Whilst Kate was seen in a beautiful new dress from Emilia Wickstead, Pippa was rocking the same Issa dress that Kate wore for the engagement announcement in a gorgeous raspberry shade, showing that the Duchess isn’t the only person who retrieves things from the back of her wardrobe.

 

Kate’s beautiful dress was from Emilia Wickstead, well-known for designing many aristocratic wedding dresses. In a very soft powder pink shade, this showed that the trend for pleats is not going away anytime soon, and that this ultra feminine trend is a great look for spring. This is not one of Kate’s High Street looks, this dress costs a whopping £1,200. But this is a look that can be replicated on the High Street as many stores have included pleats as part of their recent collections.

Pippa looked equally fabulous at the weekend, wearing a dress that is very familiar to most Kate and Pippa watchers. This is the famous Issa dress, this time in a fetching raspberry shade. Pippa actually wore this dress long before the royal engagement, so she is hardly copying Kate’s style, as has been suggested by some of the glossies.

Pippa’s dress is  a timeless classic that is ultimately flattering on most body types. I love the pretty rose fascinator that she has teamed it with, and that she has kept other accessories to a minimum with this look. All the emphasis is on the dress, the deep plunging v neckline, the ruched waistband and the full skirt.
