Dorothy Perkins – New season hero buys
It is August, and still the height of Summer, so, with the prospect of a bit of a heatwave on the way, it seems the perfect time to look towards…Autumn. Dorothy Perkins has a superb collection that is full of hero buys and style classics. Their ‘Fashion Favourites Collection’ is heavy on effortless, classic style that is designed to last and be worn again and again, rather than on fashion that will last half a season, if you’re lucky.
It’s all about Cuban heels, wrap coats (the grey is so good!), shirt dresses in a range of lengths and colours and tailored trousers and soft blouses that would be great additions to your workwear wardrobe. In terms of colour, black is back, as both a base and a statement shade, while Autumnal rust and navy – which look so good when paired together, berry shades, deep bottle greens and oranges create a stunning palette that will help you add deep, rich colour to your wardrobe.
I love this collection so much, it is totally wearable. You know that these pieces will be much loved and much worn if you add them to your current pieces, and with some short sleeves and thinner fabrics, these are very much pieces you could be wearing now. I’ve taken my own advice and am already wearing the Rose Gold Daze Ballerina Court shoes, and now need the tan version in my life.
